The Turtle TrainerTM was developed as a more reliable means to evaluate power mobility readiness. Current evaluation methods range from removing the client from his/her customized seating, which may negatively affect performance, to purchasing a power mobility device (costing up to $10,000.00), and hoping that it works properly. Even worse, may be assuming that power mobility is not appropriate for the individual, because no suitable means of evaluation is available.
Training uses:
After evaluation, some individuals might need more training to become proficient in power mobility. The quick setup allows more training time.
The Turtle TrainerTM can use Invacare, ASL, and Tash controls.
Low profile keeps users close to the floor, easily simulating a power mobility base.
